Extending Your Lifespan and Your Healthspan

Jul 14, 2022 | Blog, Functional Medicine

If you haven’t been thinking about how you are aging now and you haven’t been taking steps proactively to manage it, then by the time you finally address it, it may be too late. Aging is inevitable, but how you age—that, my friend—is within your control.

In terms of lifespan (how long you live) and healthspan (your number of active, healthy years), you have to be intentional by thinking about what you truly want for your life and making sure you are on a path that will get you there. If you don’t know where you are going, any path will take you there. In terms of aging, this means chronic disease, decreased bone and muscle mass, and the dependence on others to care for you. You have to pause, determine your desired destination, and make sure you are headed on the right path forward.

The solution to this problem that we all face is prioritizing our health and being intentional. You’ll hear this concept of intentionality come up repeatedly in this book. There are two paths—the autopilot default path and the path of intention. The autopilot path is what happens automatically, without forethought and planning. We recommend the path of intention with a purposeful, desired destination. This is challenging amidst our busy lives with so many things vying for our time and attention. Like paying into a retirement account, the sooner you start, the better off you are. It’s never too late to start though. Small lifestyle hacks deposited daily over time build up to yield huge results.

The way you create an extended lifespan and healthspan is by intentionally incorporating the five factors of health into your daily life. The core of this book is about these five factors—sleep, diet, exercise, relationships, and mindset. We’ll examine each of these factors deeply, show you how to determine where you are, and give you actionable steps to implement now to move you further down your desired path.

Our new book is more than a book about health. We want to show you not just how to have amazing health and longevity but also how to create a life you truly love now. For a fulfilling life, you want to be on a path of intention too. It’s important to make sure you aren’t delaying happiness till later. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Create a life for yourself NOW that is full of health and vibrancy and that fulfills your life’s passion.

You can have your cake and eat it too with intentionality, planning, and small, consistent daily actions repeated over time. In the beginning, you won’t notice much change, but over time the results are extraordinary. Don’t confuse simple with easy. The steps aren’t complicated, but to have an amazing, abundant life the steps have to be purposeful and consistent. We are going to show you how. Are you ready? Get the book today and start your path to optimal health and happiness NOW.
