What We Treat

Mitochondrial Health

Mitochondria are the powerhouses that live inside almost every cell. Most cells inside the human body contain 100,000 to 600,000 mitochondria each. Inside the mitochondria, food is converted into energy.

Mitochondria are essential for a healthy life.

Your immune system can’t function properly without healthy mitochondria.
You are at risk for cancer and metabolic disease without healthy mitochondria.
You are at risk for degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease without healthy mitochondria.
You are at risk for accelerated aging without healthy mitochondria.

Bottom line: They are important! And they are very susceptible to damage.

Think of mitochondria as the engine of your car which is your body. The more efficient your engine is, the more energy you produce and the healthier you are. Of course, there is a waste byproduct from energy production. The waste products are free radicals. It is necessary to bind up free radicals with antioxidants to prevent damage to cells and the mitochondria themselves.

Mitochondria need oxygen, amino acids, coq10, magnesium, B vitamins, liver support, and antioxidants to perform their best. That’s a lot to take, I know. So, instead of guessing and taking it all, we test and see how your mitochondria are doing and what they are specifically lacking to function at their absolute best.

I recommend the Comprehensive Organix Acid Profile from Genova Diagnostics for all of my patients. It offers an in-depth assessment of mitochondria, brain health, liver toxicity and so much more.

Did you know our body is made up of 37.2 Trillion cells? Yep, that’s Trillion with a T. The health of those cells determines your overall health, let alone your cellular health.  An important organelle inside the cell is the mitochondria.  Multiple mitochondria are...

The Facts About Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Sugar tastes so good, but can have devastating consequences when eaten in excess.  Too much glucose (or sugar) in the blood is turned into fat cells. Some of this fat is stored in the liver, replacing liver cells with fat cells, leading to non-alcohol related...
